ESCOMATICS

Escomatics can make a variety of turned parts
out of many materials such as brass, aluminum, steel,
and beryllium copper.
Many can drill holes, and some can tap threads and mill slots.
One of the main advantages to the Escomatic is that
it can run unattended using coil stock.

D2

A D2 is an Escomatic which can only make turned parts and is not able to drill holes.

D4

A D4 can only drill a hole in one end of a part.  It has the capability of making smaller parts than the D6 machines.

D5

The D5 has a few more features than a D4, and is a slightly faster machine.   I think the D4 is a better machine with greater longevity.

D6

The D6 can drill both ends of a part, including cross holes.  With the right attachments, a D6 can do two rear holes, cross hole, slot, mill, and thread.
